Suffering

Click here to order March now ! Pain.  Discomfort.  Illness.  Suffering.  Have you ever wondered what the point of our suffering is? “Jesus was the victim of torture,” says Fr. Leonard Revilla in our March Veritas, “he did not deserve to suffer and die….  It was sin that caused Jesus to unjustly suffer and die.  The less we sin, the less suffering there is in the world.”   Fr. Leonard continues: “Imagine a world with all people trying to live God's will.  Think about how just and harmonious the earth would be.  Pray that we always have the grace to do the will of God, and that others do too.” Week one: Physical Suffering Week two: Emotional Suffering Week three: Temporal Suffering Week four: Spiritual Suffering If you, or someone you know, is interested in ordering our daily devotional, please click here to order now!  Bulk discount for orders of 50 or more devotionals!  If you live in the Edmonton are...

In Need of a Christmas Gift?

Image
With Christmas quickly approaching, I find myself trying very hard to be intentional with each moment, and to not be carried away with all the necessary preparations and distractions that are readily available. Click here to order now.   I want to be totally prepared to welcome our Lord on Christmas day, but I so often allow myself focused on less important things. It's sometimes hard not to feel like I will be so undeserving to wish Jesus a Happy Birthday. I have often wondered how Jesus felt during His life. Did He feel the same things I felt? Discouragement? Frustration? Anger? Was He tempted with the same things I struggle with? With those thoughts in mind, I decided to take a deeper look into the life of Jesus during this Christmas season, and into the end of January with the theme, 'Jesus Christ'. We wanted to focus on the aspects: Week one: Prophecy Week two: His Divinity Week three: His Humanity Week four: His Obedience I am...

Advent is Coming...

Image
Click here to order now. Are you ready for Advent? I'm not. When I think Advent, I think Christmas and then I really start to panic. I mean, all the preparations! The baking, shopping, cleaning, planning... I find it so easy to get pulled into the busyness of the Christmas season, and often, I am so distracted with the little details that I forget about the bigger picture.  We all hear the typical "remember the reason for the season", but do we actually take into account what that means? It means that we are responsible to prepare ourSELVES for the coming of our Lord. Our minds and hearts need to be the first thing we get ready at the start of Advent and not the last minute scripture reflections, the week before Christmas.  With that in mind, we decided to focus our devotional for December on "The Coming of our Lord". Hoping it will inspire a deeper meaning for the Advent season, our four weeks are: Week one: The Annunciation Week two:...

November's Veritas Devotional is available for purchase.  Click here to purchase now. I don't know about you, but, I'm a very controlling person. I like to know exactly what's going on, have my perfect plan to get things done, and to execute that perfect plan....perfectly.  When life doesn't play out the way I had it perfectly planned, I don't take it very well. I want to succeed at everything. Therefore, I often depend solely on myself to get things done correctly, and in an appropriate amount of time, instead of realizing that God always has  the   perfect plan  if I only thought to look to Him.  Trust is a difficult thing. It is something that requires a great deal of discipline and must continuously be something we remind ourselves to do throughout our lives.  Next month we are looking at four different types of trust: Week one: Trust in our Treasures Week two: Trust in God’s Providence Week three: Trust in Ourselves We...
